You may travel a lot and enjoy watching a movie or show on the hotel/Airbnb TV. Currently most hotels have smart TV on which you can directly log in your Netflix account and start streaming. Or you can also bring a Chromecast, firestick, or any other Android box, etc with you, and share hotspot from your phone. Alternatively use a USB c to HDMI cable (if your phone has the feature) with your phone.

Option 1 Watch Netflix on hotel TV with Netflix app

The Netflix app is available on many hotel smart TVs. Some hotel TVs had quick (scan a QR code) access to Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and one other streaming apps. Signed into Netflix and it was automatically signed out on checkout day. There is also a big “LOG OUT” button in the Netflix UI. If there’s no option to log out on the TV app, you can also visit Netflix website > Account > Security and Privacy > Manage Access and Devices. Find the device and log out.

Netflix is available at select locations of many hotels, including:

  • Best Western Hotels
  • Four Seasons Hotels
  • Hilton Hotels
  • Hyatt Hotels
  • InterContinental Hotels
  • Marriott International Hotels
  • Wyndham Hotels

Option 2 Watch Netflix on TV hotel with Amazon /Roku stick

Some people prefer not to log in to hotel devices. In this case, traveling with an Amazon/Roku stick that carries your logins on your streaming apps is also a convenient way. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, relatively cheap if it gets lost, and you don’t have to remember to log out on the TV. Just plug it into an HDMI port on the TV, connect to the hotel or Airbnb WiFi and stream. If the hotels need “sign in” to the Wifi network, connect with your phone & then share Hotspot.

  1. Connect the stick to the TV by plugging it into an HDMI port on the hotel TV.
  2. Connect to a power outlet using the USB cable, the power extender and power adapter provided for best streaming experience. Another option is to connect the USB cable directly to the USB port of the TV.
  3. Power on the TV with TV remote and select the HDMI inout you used to connect to the stick.
  4. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  5. Select Settings – Network – Set up connection – Wireless.
  6. Choose the wireless network for the hotel or Airbnb.
  7. After your Roku device connects to the network, select I am at a hotel or college dorm.
  8. The next screen will instruct you on how to use your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to connect to your Roku via Wi-Fi to complete the login process.
  9. Now open Netflix and start streaming.

If you can’t connect Amazon/Roku stick to hotel Wi-Fi, try connecting to your phone’s hotspot, which is a convenient solution for temporary or permanent access. If you travel a lot, you can also get travel router, which connects to the wifi, and broadcast wifi to your devices. It disguises how many and what type of devices are connected.

Reminder: Get a cord to plug it into the TV with, then you can lay the fire stick in front of the TV, instead of it hiding behind the TV. Now you won’t forget it when you leave.

Some TVs make it difficult to hook up Amazon /Roku sticks, so many people choose to stream with Chromecast.

Option 3 Watch Netflix on hotel TV with a mobile device

Another method to watch Netflix on TV is to connect your Android or Apple mobile device to your TV. Connecting your mobile device allows you to use your TV as a display for content playing on the Netflix mobile app, or to use your mobile device as a remote control. Below you’ll find different ways to connect your mobile device to your TV. This avoids unnecessary logins & even trying to work with the clumsy TV interface.

1. Cast Netflix from phone to TV

Cast Netflix from your phone to TVs with Chromecast built-in. Chromecast built-in is available on Philips, Polaroid, Sharp, Skyworth, Soniq, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio TVs. You can also plug in your own Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra. Note that to cast Netflix to TV, you will need Netflix Ad-free plan.

2. Connect using an HDMI cable

You can purchase an Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter to connect the lightning connector to HDMI, then use the HDMI cable to connect your phone to your TV.

Option 4 Watch Netflix on hotel TV with USB Drive

Since many models of TVs have a USB port for playing content, you can download Netflix videos to your computer and then transfer the movie to a USB drive to play it on your hotel TV.

But before you get started, you should note that videos downloaded directly from the Netflix app cannot be transferred. They can only be played on that device via the Netflix app.

In this case, Pazu Netflix Video Downloader can help you out. With a few clicks, you can download Netflix movies and TV shows as normal MP4 videos, compatible with most TV models. Without the limitations of Netflix, you can better manage your Netflix movies and TV shows and watch them on TV at any time you want.
