HBO Max is well-known for its high-quality, critically acclaimed original series and blockbuster movies, including the Warner Bros. film library and DC Universe content. HBO Max is available as an add-on channel on Prime Video. To add HBO Max to Prime Video, you don’t need to be an Amazon Prime member anymore. With a free Amazon account, you can subscribe directly to a Premium channel, such as HBO Max, on Prime Video.
While HBO Max typically offers three plans with different tiers, Prime Video offers only two: Basic with Ads and Standard. For each plan, you can subscribe monthly or pay annually.
HBO Max previously offered a 7-day free trial for new or returning users, but it is no longer available.

While you can enjoy the same content and features with the same plan, there are differences between subscribing to HBO Max directly and as a Prime Video channel.
First, HBO Max offers three subscription tiers, while the HBO Max channel on Prime Video offers only two more affordable options. The third tier, the Premium Plan, allows you to stream on up to 4 devices simultaneously, access 4K content, and enjoy increased download capacity.
Second, the HBO Max, Disney+, and Hulu Bundle plans are not available through Prime Video either. These bundles come in both ad-supported and ad-free versions:

Third, if you add HBO Max as a Premium channel on Prime Video, you’ll need to log in to HBO Max with a provider. However, if you subscribe through HBO Max, you can sign in directly to HBO Max.
To add HBO Max as an add-on channel on Prime Video, you will need an Amazon account.
Please note that you no longer need a Prime membership to subscribe to Premium channels, such as HBO Max on Prime Video. However, if you want to enjoy the “Include with Prime” content on Prime Video, you can join the Prime membership, which costs $14.99/month or $139/year, after a 30-day free trial.
