HBO Max costs $9.99/month or $99.99/year (With Ads), $15.99/month for Standard or $20.99/month for Premium. There is no official free trial. HBO Max caps accounts at five profiles, including both adult and kid profiles. You can add profiles for everyone in your household.

You can sign in to HBO Max on different devices, but HBO Max only allows a maximum of three simultaneous streams, which includes phones, streaming devices like Roku and Fire Stick, smart TVs, the HBO Max website on a computer, and other devices.

However, with the rename to Max, simultaneous streams rules also changed. Currently Basic With Ads and Standard plan users can stream on 2 devices at once and Premium plan users can stream on 4 devices at once.

How to add profiles for family members on HBO Max?

You can add profiles from the HBO Max website or the app. Follow below steps to add profiles on HBO Max website.

1. Open https://play.hbomax.com/profile on your browser and log in your HBO Max account.
2. Click ADD ADULT or ADD KID.
3. Choose a character, enter the profile name and then click SAVE.

If you’re getting a streaming on too many devices message, do the following:

On phone or tablet

1. Open the HBO Max app.
2. Tap the Profile icon. 
3. Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
4. Choose Manage Devices. A list of devices that you’ve recently used appears under Other Devices.
5. To start streaming on another device, you’ll need to stop streaming on a device that has been used recently.

On computer

1. Go to https://play.hbomax.com/ in your browser and log in to your account. 
2. Click Profile icon – Settings.
3. Scroll down and click Manage Devices. A list of devices that you’ve recently used appears under Other Devices.

6. Select the movie or TV show you want to watch and start playing it.
7. Select the Teleparty extension in the toolbar.
8. Select Start the Party.
9. A window opens containing a URL. Copy the link and send it to your friends so they can join the party.
