Like other streaming platforms, Amazon Prime Video keeps tracking the movies and shows you’ve watched through its Watch History. Additionally, it offers the convenient Continue Watching feature, allowing you to resume where you left off directly from the homepage.

Sometimes, you may need to delete certain videos from your watch history for privacy concerns, especially when sharing an account or device with others. Typically, Prime Video uses your watch history to make content recommendations. By deleting the history, you can ensure that recommendations are based on your current preferences. Over time, a watch history can accumulate content that is no longer relevant. Deleting the history is a way to keep it organized and focused on current interests.

In this article, we will guide you on how to find and manage your Prime Video watch history, as well as how to hide a video from your continue watching section. Furthermore, we’ll introduce a method to prevent a video from appearing in the watch history and the continue watching list.

Option 1. Find and Edit Your Prime Video Watch History

Amazon Prime Video keeps it simple to find your watch history, and you can easily delete movies and shows from it. However, this feature is only available through the web browser and is not offered in the Prime Video apps.

When you delete a title from your watch history, it will also be removed from the Continue Watching list. To accomplish this, follow these steps:

Step 1. Sign in to Prime Video at amazon.com/video from a web browser.

Step 2. Click your profile icon and select Account & Settings from the drop-down menu.

Step 3. Click the “Watch history” tab and you will see shows and movies you’ve watched, listed by date. To remove a title from your watch history, click “Delete movie/episodes from Watch History.

Option 2. Hide a Video from Your Continue Watching

Another method to track your viewing history is by accessing the “Continue watching” on the homepage of your Prime Video. This feature is available on both the web player and the Prime Video apps.

While you cannot delete items from your “Continue watching” section, you have the option to use the “Hide this video” feature, preventing a specific movie or show from displaying on your Prime Video.

When you hide a movie or a show, it will no longer be shown even if you watch it again. However, the video remains in your watch history, and you can still search for and watch the video when needed.

To hide a video, you can follow these steps on the web player or the Prime Video app on your phone, computer, or TV.

Hide Videos in Prime Video Using a Web Browser:

  1. Hover over the video and click the More button (the three dots).
  2. Select “Hide this movie” or “Hide this season“.

Hide Videos from the Prime Video Desktop App:

  1. Press and hold a video. When you release, a menu will pop up.
  2. Select Hide this video.

Hide Videos with the Prime Video app for iOS & Android:

  1. Tap and hold a video. When you release, a menu will pop up.
  2. Tap Hide this video.

Hide Videos in Prime Video on a Smart TV:

  1. Move the cursor to a video you’d like to hide.
  2. Press and hold the Menu/Select button on your remote.
  3. Select Hide this video/season.

Option 3. Download Prime Video Titles to MP4 and Watch Offline

Another effective way to prevent certain videos from appearing in your watch history is to download them as MP4 files and watch offline. This approach also ensures you’re prepared for situations where an internet connection may not be available.

You can use the Prime Video app to download movies and TV shows for offline watching. However, files downloaded can only be accessed through the app on the device they were downloaded. Watching them still adds them to the “Continue watching” list and your overall watch history. To address this, a recommended solution is to use Pazu Amazon Prime Video Downloader, which allows you to download videos in MP4 format and watch them using alternative video players. Consequently, these videos won’t appear in your watch history or “Continue watching” list.

After downloading, you can easily transfer these files to any compatible device for viewing or playing them using other video players. You can enjoy the downloaded videos without needing the Prime Video app, and no longer have to worry about expiration dates.
