There are numerous reasons why you might want to update your Netflix password. Whatever your motivation may be, this guide is designed to assist you in changing or recovering your Netflix password under various circumstances, including:

  1. Changing your Netflix password for increased account security or to remove unauthorized access.
  2. Resetting your Netflix password if you can’t sign in or have forgotten your password.
  3. Recovering your account details when you can’t recall the email address or phone number associated with your Netflix account.

It’s essential to note that you’ll need to modify your password using a web browser since Netflix doesn’t offer the option to change your password through the iOS or Android app. Follow this tutorial for a comprehensive, step-by-step guide.

Change the password of your Netflix account

Step 1. Visit the Netflix website on your web browser and log in to your account.

Step 2. Click on your profile image in the top right corner and select Account in the drop-down menu.

Step 3. Choose Change password under the MEMBERSHIP & BILLING section.

Step 4. Enter your current and new password, then click the Save button.

Your Netflix password will be updated. Remember to sign into your account with the new password you just created.

How to Reset your Netflix password

If you are unable to sign in or can’t remember your password to Netflix, you can reset it through email or text message if you’ve already added a phone number to your account.

Reset password by email

Follow these steps to rest your Netflix password by email:

Step 1. Go to the Netflix website on your web browser and click the Sign In button in the top right corner.

Step 2. Click “Need help?” under the Sign In button.

Step 3. Netflix will direct you to the login help page. Enter your email associated with your Netflix account and click the Email Me button.

Step 4. Go to your inbox to find the email from Netflix about resetting your password. Click the link in the email to be signed in to Netflix automatically.

Step 5. Once signed in, you’ll be asked to create a new password. Note that your new password can’t be the same as your last password.

Note:

  • The link in the email will expire after 24 hours. If it is expired, send yourself another email from netflix.com/loginhelp.
  • If you didn’t get the email, check it in your spam, junk, or promotions folders, and in any email filters you set up.

Reset password by text message (SMS)

If you’ve already added a phone number to your Netflix account, you can reset your password by SMS with the following steps:

  1. Go to netflix.com/loginhelp and choose Text Message (SMS).
  2. Enter the phone number associated with your account, then click Text Me.

  1. A verification code will be sent to you via text message, and you need to enter this code within 20 minutes to proceed with the password reset.
  2. After inputting the code, you’ll be prompted to create a new password.

If you encounter the message “This password is not secure or is too common” while resetting or changing your password, it indicates that the password you’ve chosen is either on a list of compromised or frequently used passwords, which Netflix does not allow for security purposes. In such cases, you’ll need to select a different, more secure password.

Recover your Netflix account info using billing information

Step 1. Visit netflix.com/loginhelp and click I don’t remember my email or phone.

If you don’t see this option, recovery by billing information isn’t available in your region. Contact Netflix for help.

Step 2. Enter the first name, the last name, and the credit or debit card number used for the account. Then click Find Account.

Netflix will look for your account with that information. If the account information is not found, Netflix will send a password reset email to the email address on the account.

Extra tip: How to Download and Save Netflix titles to MP4?

Netflix downloads are typically available to subscribers of ad-free plans and are restricted to specific devices through the Netflix app. Additionally, these downloads have expiration dates, with some titles expiring 48 hours after the initial play.

However, if you’re interested in downloading your favorite titles from Netflix using an ad-supported membership or want to watch them offline on different devices, you can make use of Pazu Netflix Video Downloader. This tool enables you to bypass these limitations and enjoy your content more conveniently.

Pazu Netflix Video Downloader is a desktop program for Netflix users to download Netflix videos without the Netflix app. It can bypass the DRM from Netflix and download movies and TV shows from Netflix to MP4 and MKV. The converted files can be preserved in high quality as 1080p after a fast download process, with subtitles and audio tracks kept 100% the same as the original video. Additionally, it removes all Netflix download limitations, such as expiration issues and device restrictions. This means you can easily transfer and enjoy the downloaded files on any compatible device of your choice.
