As a result of the password-sharing crackdown, Netflix uses Household to define who you can share your account with. It is based on the primary location where your account is used, including the devices connected to the internet at this address. You can use your TV to set up the Netflix Household. Otherwise, Netflix may automatically set it for you and cover any devices that access your Netflix account via the same internet connection as that TV. If you don’t watch Netflix on a TV, you don’t need to set the Netflix Household for your account.
The Extra Member is Netflix’s official, paid solution for sharing your Netflix account outside of your Household. Extra Members have their own login email and password. However, they can only stream and download on one device at a time and create just one profile. Please remember that the Extra Member needs to be in the same country as the account owner.
Netflix primarily offers three subscription plans: Standard with Ads, Standard, and Premium. You can only add Extra Members to the ad-free Standard and Premium plans. The Standard plan allows for one Extra Member, while the Premium plan allows for two.

You can add an Extra Member from the Netflix website or your TV. Currently, the Netflix mobile app doesn’t support adding Extra Members.
If you want to send the invitation link directly to the extra member, copy it from Account > Membership > Manage extra members.
If you no longer need the Extra Member slot or you want to switch an Extra Member between ad-supported and ad-free, you’ll need to cancel the current one. Then you can add a new one if needed.
