Subtitles can enhance your viewing experience on platforms like Netflix, whether you’re watching in a noisy environment or struggling with a foreign language. Netflix provides flexible subtitle, caption, and audio language options. On TVs, you usually can choose from 5-7 languages, while on mobile devices and web browsers, you can see all available languages for a title.

If subtitles become distracting or unnecessary, especially on smaller screens, you can easily turn them off. However, note that some content might still display closed captions even with subtitles disabled if it’s in a different language from the original. This guide shows you how to turn off Netflix subtitles on various devices.
