HBO Max offers subscriptions through various sources, including directly through HBO Max, app stores, other streaming platforms, and even your internet, mobile, or TV provider. Since the cancellation process depends on who bills you, let’s identify your provider first:
Now you can find your billing source for HBO Max at the top of the Subscription page. If it says “Billed Through WarnerMedia,” you’re billed directly by HBO Max.
If you signed up for HBO Max directly on their website, your billing is handled by WarnerMedia. To cancel your subscription, you’ll need to use the HBO Max website as well. The HBO Max app doesn’t currently support cancellations.

If you subscribed to HBO Max through the app on your Android, Apple, Amazon Fire, or Roku device, you will typically be charged through the respective app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore, or Roku). So manage your billing and cancellation through the app stores as well.
Streaming services such as Prime Video and Hulu also provide HBO Max as a Premium add-on channel. This makes it easy for you to manage your bill payment, and you might also access both streaming services from one platform. However, to cancel your HBO Max subscription on another streaming service, you’ll need to go to their website or app.
Many providers offer HBO Max as an add-on channel or part of a bundle of services. If you subscribed to HBO Max through one of these providers, you’ll typically need to visit your provider’s website to cancel your subscription.
