Unlike Netflix, Max (formerly HBO Max) doesn’t have a dedicated watch history feature. Instead, it offers a “Continue Watching” list to track what you’re watching. While this is helpful for picking up where you left off, you might want to remove titles from this list to keep it organized. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find and remove titles from your “Continue Watching” list, and a workaround to effectively clear your Max watch history.

How to See Your Max Viewing History

Max’s “Continue Watching” feature keeps track of the shows and movies you’ve started but haven’t finished. Once you finish a title, it’s automatically removed from the list.

You can find this convenient feature on the Home page of the Max app or web player. To see more titles, simply use the right arrow on the web player or swipe left on the app. For a complete overview of your “Continue Watching” list, check the “My Stuff” iconbadge.

On Desktop

  1. Log into your account at max.com and choose a profile.
  2. You can find the Continue Watching row on the Home page.
  3. Click the “My Stuff” iconbadge at the top right.
  4. Select “Continue Watching” to see the full list.

On Phone, Tablet, and Computer

  1. Go to Continue Watching on Max.
  2. Click on the Menu icon (three dots) three vertical dots on the title you want to remove.
  3. Select “X Remove.

How to 100% Clear Max Viewing History

While you can remove a title from “Continue Watching,” it stays in your viewing history. If you start watching a removed or completed title again, you’ll see options like “Resume” or “Watch Again,” indicating that you’ve previously viewed it.

To completely clear your viewing history on Max, the most straightforward method is to delete your current profile. Please note that this doesn’t work for the main profile, the first one created with your account. The main profile can only be edited, not deleted.

  1. Make sure you’re not currently using the profile you want to delete. Switch to a different profile.
  2. Tap your profile picture.
