HBO Max offers a vast library. You may randomly watch a movie and cannot remember its name later. However, the platform doesn’t have a dedicated watch history feature. You can go to the “Continue Watching” list to see what you’re watching. While this helps resume where you left off, you might also want to view the full watch history or remove titles to keep things organized. In this guide, we’ll show you how to find your viewing history, remove titles from “Continue Watching” lists, and provide a workaround to effectively clear your HBO Max watch history.
HBO Max’s “Continue Watching” feature tracks the shows and movies you’ve started but haven’t finished. Once you finish a title, it’s automatically removed from the list.
To keep track of everything you’ve watched, you can use “My List” on HBO Max. This feature serves as a watchlist for videos you want to watch. However, titles won’t be removed even if you finish watching them. Just use the “+ My List” icon in the title details page to add a movie or show before watching. To remove a show from the list, use the same icon (which changes to “✓ My List” after the title is added). You can find “My List” under the “My Stuff” section.

For titles you haven’t finished watching, you can find the “Continue Watching” list on the Home page of the HBO Max app or web player. To see more titles, use the right arrow in the web player or swipe left in the app. For a complete overview of your “Continue Watching” list, go to “My Stuff”. Here’s how:

When you complete a movie or the final episode of a TV show, it will be automatically removed from the “Continue Watching” list. You can also remove the title in advance if you’re no longer interested.

While you can remove a title from “Continue Watching,” it stays in your viewing history. If you start watching a removed or completed title again, you’ll see options like “Resume” or “Watch Again,” indicating that you’ve previously viewed it.
To completely clear your viewing history on HBO Max, the most straightforward method is to delete your current profile. Please note that this doesn’t work for the main profile, the first one created with your account. The main profile can only be edited, not deleted.
