Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner, has long been synonymous with Western dramas. As the flagship production of Paramount+, it not only inherits the spirit of the West, but also injects a modernized business model. It started airing in 2018, and has already launched multiple seasons. With family strife, land struggles, and moral dilemmas, Yellowstone is not only a western drama, but also a deep reflection on human nature and interests.
However, when U.S. Paramount+ subscribers attempt to watch it on the streaming service, only find it’s not there. Google trends indicate that viewers are still a little confused by why is Yellowstone not on Paramount Plus. Yellowstone is available on Paramount+ in Canada, the UK, Latin America, Brazil and France, but not including U.S.
Paramount+(launched in 2021) did not exist when the show first started so they sold the rights to Peacock. NBCUniversal’s Peacock acquired the U.S. streaming rights to Yellowstone in 2020 when season 3 is released, with the first two seasons debuting in July of that year. Unless things have changed drastically Peacock has exclusive streaming rights for the shows immediate release and that’s why Paramount does not have Yellowstone on its streaming service.
Paramount Global President and CEO Bob Bakish later called the timing of the deal “unfortunate” as the show’s ratings, viewership and popularity increased in later seasons.

Paramount Network is a TV channel, only available to watch live through cable or Internet TV services (like Philo) that include the channel.

This show portrays a high-tech but brutal future world. Fans of the show are controversial about the setting of the Chief Petty Officer taking off his mask, but there’s no doubt that it makes the character more three-dimensional and realistic.
2 seasons, 2022-2025
1923 is a prequel to the Paramount Network series Yellowstone and serves as a sequel to the series 1883. It tells the story of a new generation of Duttons and explores a host of issues that plagued the Mountain West in the early twentieth century, including epidemics, historic droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression.
The first season was premiered on December 18, 2022, on Paramount+. The second and final season is set to premiere on February 23, 2025. The classic continuation of the western genre is helmed by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Not only did it continue the success of Yellowstone in the ratings, but it was also nominated for several awards, winning over both audiences and critics.
